I just answered my own question, when in auto timeshift it records in the background on the current channel  without pushing pause. a bit like what Tivo does but only on the current channel, Tivo does it on both tuners.

@joshhill96 "there is no new software available, please try again later" when checking via network or air on the unit. There is also nothing on the website for it.

This one thing that really bugs me, and it isnt the first time, you tell us there is an update available but there is no way for us to actually get it.

I was very keen on one, but I haven't kept track of this thread for quite a while now, how is the bugs and issues situation going? Is it getting pretty rock solid now?

I've only had mine for 2 days but np at all yet. The only thing I've found is the remote has to be pointed directly at it but once you get used to that its fine.

I like it and have even turned my TIVO off now.

Picked up a T2200 yesterday from The Warehouse - the price was too good to pass up - as a replacement for the Tivo.

The only issue I'm having is with the WiFi. The T2200 reports that it's connected to the WLAN, has an IP Address, but that it can't connect to the internet.

I have to admit I have not rebooted the router as everything else connected (including the Tivo) are working just fine.

I found a suggestion somewhere (possibly the DishTV forums?) that suggested WiFi signal strength might be the issue. Ours shows 54% as this location.

Any thoughts? I'd rather not go and buy an extender or powerline ethernet to find out that's not the problem.

TIA,

Alister.

I didnt try wifi with mine as I have a hub sitting in the TV cabinet so connected it with ethernet.

Worked fine with that and everything is fast loading including the guide..

I'm not sure if the Guide comes via the network connection or not ?

Question: Can you turn off the front panel display during operation? Those large channel numbers look quite distracting

Hi Greg

There is no option to remove the display while in operation, however you can buy filters to reduce the display brightness while retaining the IR sensor.

The loading of the guide depends on which type of guide you have selected, the new Freeview EPG guide with a new banner is internet connected whilst the original guide loads via the transmission.

Hi

Yes the original remote was quickly discontinued due to this fault with the IR, we have launched 2 new remotes which work much better,

Hello josh.

How can we tell which is the new remote ? The one that I have looks different with the writing on it to the one you have on your website ?

The buttons look the same but at the bottom the only words on it are aerialBox.

Josh, any option for us to have the original remote replaced with the Gen2 (without having to buy one)?

and the one I bought from the warehouse 3 days ago has the original as well.

Can it be swapped for the updated remote with the wider IR field ?
