doubletop: @DishTV I had asked this some months back but it may have got lost in the lengthy discussion on the merits of various controllers and Josh moving on. Why does the box randomly decide to drop requests for series recording? We have a number set up but occasionally the series recordings stop and the and recording requests have to be re-instated. A suggestion for an improvement. When a series recording is selected could we have an option to select the number of episodes to be recorded? either "All" or a number, say 1-16? For example, we record One News in the evening and we only really need the past couple of episodes, not an ever increasing number. Same thing for soaps. A function like this would help manage disk space by automatically deleting all the older copies from the disk. Pete

Hi There, the best option here would be to contact our support team at Support@DishTV.co.nz they will be able to shed some light on how the unit records and what could be causing this. We also welcome all suggestions, I will forward this information to the software team to see if there is much that can be done regarding more user management that can be added around how the unit records and deletes older recordings.

Thanks; It happened again last night and the last episode of Dr Foster didn't get recorded when it had recorded the rest.

Ive got a MANUAL recording set that has NEVER recorded.

I have contacted the support email & they advise that PENDING status will mean that it will record.

However this contradicts the everyday meaning of the word PENDING - in which case something needs to occur to make (whatever it is) active & then do what is required.

Can anyone advise how to get a manual recording out of pending status ?

If the output is set to AC3 (for Dolby Digital sound) then the T2200 will switch to PCM automatically for broadcast channels that only have PCM sound, but for some reason (bug?) this does happen for the FreeviewPlus apps.

I've had a T2200 for about three weeks now and I discovered this on day one. I slightly went into panic mode thinking the unit didn't actually support Dolby over the air as it was then I realised there were no Dolby logos on the unit. I have it connected to my receiver via HDMI and when HDMI Audio was set to AUTO the receiver said it was PCM until I manually switched it to AC3.

Logically when the output is set to AUTO it should default to the highest quality possible i.e. AC3/Dolby if available otherwise PCM?

Hello, Does anyone know how to use the manual recording feature of the T2200.

we have set it to RECORDING (not to CHANNEL)

and the mode to :WEEK DAYS

Returned home today & it DID record - but only 3 minutes of recording. it should be (& says) 1 hour 15 minutes.I

I've also spoken with support and the Manual recordings are *NOT* shown in the Schedule screen (which means we have to check both screens to see whats going to record.

do any other folk have problems with manual recording ?

EDIT: 10% disk space used. 89% free.

Me again - Is there a way to add a padding to recordings of SERIES (not manual recordings).

Ive watched a few Mythbusters (the 6pm + recordings - series), and the endings have been chopped off - the programme has gone past its scheduled time & the recording has ended..

Is there a way to have a padding on the and AND/OR the front of a show ? Ive been through all the settings i can think of but cant find anything.

EDIT - Think ive got my manual recordings sorted out (however if i have the start time before the start of the show - it is saved under the name of the previous show - not saved under the name of the show ive recorded).

Has anyone else found the "NETWORK" option for their unit's software updates giving the error 'software update server not found'? Wording of said error is from memory as I never remember to post at home. Although it is set to automatically check I occasionally manually check for updates entering the default 0000 to authorise it. After a couple of seconds it gives the error. It used to work fine. At a guess it's been happening for about a month that I know of.

My T2200 is plugged directly into a six month old modem via Ethernet which itself plugs directly into a fibre ONT so not a WiFi issue. And yes it has had a couple of restarts along the way.

Was working fine and the T2200 system stats says it's connected to the net fine. Changing the update method to "AIR" seems to work OK so appears to be isolated to Dish TV's update server via the net?

press the app button and then open any one of the ondemand apps or run a speed test. if they work it tells you its an issue with with update server (my bet)

Santa arrived early with a Samsung UHD 4K 50" TV yesterday.

It doesn't recognise the DishTV T2200 attached to the HDMI port, but still runs the signal from the T2200 fine, including the Apps for OnDemand.

Still a bit of reading to do; but for now I can access Netflix, LightBox, Neon, FreeView OnDemand without the DishTV or anything else attached. Only one beef, 3 X HDMI not 4 like the old TV.

Is there a way to sort the SCHEDULE to ignore the "looking for repeat events"

- Sorted by date

- only include ACTIVE recordings

ive come home today & the WHOLE 1st page of my schedule contains "looking for repeat events".

Big bang theory - is on TV tonight - LOOKING FOR REPEAT EVENTS

American Ninja Warrior - Is on on MONDAY - - LOOKING FOR REPEAT EVENTS

Doomsday is on ion Friday & on Tuesday - LOOKING FOR REPEAT EVENTS

Is there a way to ignore these - or put them on a separate page & say "you have 5 shows that are looking for repeat events" - & make more room for active shows that will record.

EDIT: Big bang is going to record tonight (a 2nd recording / type). But it will make sense if we can choose to ignore the unrecordables

Hi

I'm still having issues with rewinding. As in it won't preview the rewinding, or rewinds pretty much second by second even when on 32 speed.

Been happening for a while and damn annoying :-(. You can't go back and if you can you don't know where you are !
