The resolution does look to be worse than SD, when comparing it to four and seven. But it reminds me of the resolution of stratos when it was running. Perhaps it is just in testing mode. Still good to see another 'choice'.

Hopefully as time goes on, we get more entertainment shows and decent ones at that. I'm sick of tv having all the home and lifestyle and food programmes.

Have been watching some of ChoiceTV.
It appears to offer the same junk as the other channels.

Keep pushing TV7 at www.savetvnz7.co.nz

I've signed it, am now going to do the email thing and list reasons to keep it.

TVNZ 7 seems to be the only really good Channel on Freeview. And If I wasn't busy watching Sky's Crime & Investigation Channel (which i have a long av cord from our lounge decoder box into my tv in my bedroom, so i can watch it when they put it on that channel) I would probably watch 7 a whole lot more.

JDA's muxes are generated at the transmitter site, unlike Kordia, where they are muxed together in one place and sent as a package to the sites. This means that JDA need to set up each site individually. This may take a few days. Explains the delay hopefully. Still four days to launch to sort it out.

I see they have a promo video on at the moment and quiet frankly if this is what
their picture quality is going to be like  I will not be watching, in short the
feed is super compressed and looks like crap!!! Thought the Chinese stations
looked bad...this is even worse...

What does everyone else think?

Sky wouldn't exist if quality alone was the criteria- some of their channels are really ugly. People will watch almost any quality if they like the show... unfortunately.

I suspect the promo loop quality is unrelated to what will be on air at the launch... It'll hopefully(?) look as good as SD can look.

But you would think they would put their best foot forward and have the best quality possible for their promo to lure potential viewers??Would be like having a crappy picture on a TV in a retailer shop.....who is going to buy that TV?? I know for sure if I was starting a new TV station and go to all that trouble making a promo I would have it in the best quality possible......not a good start for Choice TV!!!!

Regarding the quality of the reek footage currently on Choice TV, on their Facebook page today they say:
"The loop reel is a bit fuzzy yes. That's playing out of TVNZ and they are doing their best to sort it. We take over tonight so things will improve."
