The Latest S7090PVR update 14c adds among other fixes the ability to repair corrupt files on the hard drive thus repairing some cases of Media not alive and recovering lost/corrupt recordings

If your unit fails to boot after the OTA of 14C you will need to follow the following steps

Please power your unit off fully. Press and hold the left hand Vol button on the front panel keep this held down while powering the unit back up. On the front display it should read LOAD then ERAS, you can now let the button go. After about 30sec your unit should start up, just set your region and press OK, this will scan your channels back in and you should be all go again.
