Hello Cobbers ...
I am using a DISH TV S7070 set box and have suddenly (after the Barcelona Game) lost both SBS (Australian) Channels.
These were available to me via the Optus D1 Satellite.  Frequency 12648    Symbolrate  12600  Polarization  Vertical.
Now nothing can be picked up when the details are entered and I wonder is anyone else experiencing  problems
with the SBS Channels?
Also would anyone know the default password for the DISH TV S7070 so that it might be set back to Factory settings.

Thanks for your time.

You don't have a Sky box or other device holding the LNB in H polarisation do you?

All good here on SBS HD and SBS 2 using the parameters you listed.
Never used a Dish TV, so can't help you there.

Hello, just read your post.  Our SBS One and Two channels have disappeared as well.  Have tried everything, but can't get them back.  Out of curiosity, what was your glitch?  Thanks.

Hello Users of this post

As of yesterday evening (Friday 4/5/2012) SBS Tasmania has now dropped all its services to New Zealand on Optus D1. SBS still remains on the Satellite but is only available to Australia on their own beam.

The cause of this has not being confirmed however SBS is moving to Australia's new VAST platform which is for rural Australia who can't get Freeview UHF over there

There is a new post about this please use that one for more discussions

Thanks

Your almost right

Officially SBS never had any services in NZ, this was an inherent bonus

12648 on D1 was a dual Australia/NZ transponder, this service has been dropped

SBS on D1 was never a channel as such, It was a linking feed from the mainland , The reason this has been dropped would more likely be that it is now being fed by cable

SBS still remains on Optus C1

The SBS service on Optus C1 is encrypted and requires an Aurora Irdeto card to receive. SBS 1 only, but available for 3 time zones; SE Aus, Queensland, WA. Broadcast in 4:3 aspect ratio. Also on this service Southern Cross Television broadcast a channel with Australian Channel 7 content.

silverlake: PS: Aurora service on Optus C1 to be closed by end of 2013.

Given that Aurora is analogue, and still in 4:3 format, it's hardly worth the bother.

Downloading from their website is easier!

Aurora is digital, but not upgraded to use 16:9 aspect ratio. They are encouraging all users to migrate to the replacement VAST service. (VAST is not a viable option for many in NZ)
