Does anyone know what the format is for the EPG.txt file saved by the ultraplus units?  Opening it with a standard text editor clearly shows the name of each program and the extended description but lots of other garbage.  How do you extract the date/time & channel info.
Below is an example of part of my EPG.txt file.  Any help appreciated.

Hi,

You need to strip out ASCII character values below 31, and other non-alpha characters above 122. This will tidy it up but may never restore the original formatting etc.

Easy to do with a VB macro, or maybe others know a programme to do it.

Stripping out these charachters doesnt actually help me, as it appears that this is where the Channel & time data is encoded somehow. I want to decode this data to give something usefull rather than just a list of program descriptions.

Then I guess the only way would translate those 'control' characters to what the actually represent or do.
Having the text and the actual output should let you cross reference and see if there's any pattern. Real Bletchley Park stuff !

Assuming it isn't a publically documented format you'll need to reverse engineer it.. looking at it in a text editor won't be any help.  Find a good hex editor and see if you can work out the format.
