Hi,
As I understand it...
The oval shaped LNB's that have been installed on Sky dishes for several years now actually contain 2 LNB's... The second LNB is offset by 4 degrees so that it can receive signals from Optus C1/D3 (although Sky do not broadcast any content from those satellites).
A Sky dish with one of these LNB's can be used to access the FTA channels on Optus D1, and the Aurora channels on Optus C1 (with an Aurora card).
There is only one cable to the LNB(s), and which LNB is active is controlled by a 22khz switch. This implies that if you have multiple STB's, then you cannot tune one STB into a channel on C1 while another STB is tuned to D1. (eg: you cannot have 1 STB tuned to SBS whilst another STB is tuned to TVNZ7).

Are there any similar LNB's available where 2 cables can be attached so that the 2 LNB's can be accessed simultaneously?
Thanks

All new Sky installs have Quad output Dual LNb's so you have 4 independent LNB's in one package. The C1 LNB is there in case an issue arises with Optus D1, so Sky services can be routed via Optus D3, which is in the same orbital location as C1.

The Sky Dual Throat LNB's that I have seen only have a single cable, which presumably means that at any one time the LNB can be switched to D1H OR D1V OR C1H OR C1V.
Are you saying that there are new LNB's with 2 or 4 cables so that you can simultaneously  receive D1H AND D1V AND C1H AND C1V ?
I currently have a twin LNB providing D1H and D1V to a multiswitch with 6 STB's attached so that any of the STB's can access any of the transponders on D1. Now that there are no FTA channels broadcasting on the D1V transponders with a NANZ beam I am wondering if I can use one of the Sky dual throat LNB's so that I can switch between D1H and C1V (Aurora SBS and Central 7 are on C1V).
And where can I get hold of the LNB I need?
thanks!

You can get one of these by subscribing to Sky as I understand these are manufactured for Sky by Sharp.

Drive around a new subdivision and you will see plenty of the new LNB, mainly used for MySky and SkyHD with multiple tuners.
