I live in a freeview HD area, and can see the transmitter directly from my roof. We have a UHF aerial that is in average condition, with an RG6 that runs directly to the only Freeview HD TV (Sony 32' with inbuilt tuner).

The picture has started to increasingly break up. It only happens for a few seconds, usually the sound goes for a second, and if it lasts longer the picture gets blocky.

I got on the roof the other day and had a look. The aerial is pointed directly at the transmitter. The connection to the aerial is a little worse for wear, but isn't terrible. The other end is an F-connector with a male coax connector that plugs directly to the TV. I can't see the condition of this without chopping it off. It seems ok, from the outside though.

Should I re-terminate each end?
