Why on a SKY FTA TP?
Is it not going to be on 12483?

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

Oh, NO !!!!  It's that last thing anyone in their right mind would want.  Still, it may force whoever controls the EPG to cease starting recordings 1 hour later - when you already have it, or don't want it - and it takes over and stops recordings you DO want . Infuriating.

Cheers - Kirk

Please excuse my ignorance, but what part of Sky is FTA?

Sky has had FTA (Non encrypted) channels for a while. Just recently SKY has removed their versions of TV ONE and TV TWO. Trackside is FTA and so is the 'Weather' Channel (Music Loop)

The channel is also now on Sky Channel 81.

I wonder if Sky would accommodate TV3's Plus 1 channel as well, if approached.

I'd rather C4 on sky instead of TV3+1

Just looked at the frequency of this test and have found that it has been replaced with a Sky Testcard.
I wonder why????

Exactly, what is the reason for this channel? To fill in some spare airwaves?

No,  I suspect it is profit, or at least, that would be the hope of the broadcaster.  They must perceive that the slice of the national advertising budget for their planned target audience that they can garner will provide an adequate return.  Time will tell.
