Hi All,

Have tried to find info on what coverage TVNZ / Freeview has on the olympics.  Is freeview running a second special channel, or are we limited to whatever channel 1 has?

Cheers!

TVNZ do not have the Olympics this year, Sky have the rights.

Pretty sure Prime is doing 23 hours per day of Olypics coverage.

Plse note that a lot can happen since the media printed the rights to 2012 olympics back in 2007! So that link might not be the best one to go by.

Hmm, good point, but with the event starting in just a few days one would expect some more into by now.

I've been suprised how little hype/info/advertising there has been about the Olympics, but then again I don't have Sky.

True, you'd think Sky would have been leveraging this more than they have.

Can't see Prime moving to HD any time soon, given it's usually a teaser of what's on the 'real' Sky service.

Prime is HD for the games (only on MySky HDi/MySky HD+).

The Prime TV website makes no mention whatsoever of the Olympics. I don't even know when the games start, let alone what coverage Prime will be showing. Bah.
Hopefully there will be at least some highlights packages on an HD [freeview] channel.

Cheers,
Joseph

Edit. Realized I am browsing on iPad, so there is possibly some Flash content regarding Olympics that I can't see :)

I couldn't see anything on Prime website either regarding the Olympics or Primes coverage.

We've got another month to go before the Olympics start. 27 July ;-)

Not even on the 'Sport' tab on the website.

I suppose that unlike the other free to air channels that are in HD, Sky will wring every dollar out of the public as they can, by insisting on the $10.00 HD ticket.  Lord help us, how did NZ TV ever sink this low?
