Hi I live at Waihi Beach which is very fringe. After seeing some of Wild Planet in HDTV it puts satellite to shame :-(
So would like to swap out the satellite aerial. I have had quite a bit to do with aerials over the years but have never been able to compare phased array with high gain yagi

A chap about 300m down the road uses a phased array as above, and gets excellent reception. I have been advised that the 91 element is the way to go, but due to the sporadic nature of our area and lots of scattered signal my gut feeling is the phased array with masthead amp will work better.

Any comments appreciated.
Thanks,
Alistair

Hi, a phased array will always work better with a non line of sight path that has variable phasing of the signal associated with it.

I would have thought in your location a masthead amp is a must anyway, if it were me I would do the array with amp.

Cheers
Cyril
