Just repaired a Zinwell 620 / DSE G7503 i picked up, using this incredibly helpful post - http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=83&topicid=91226

Quick question tho - can the software be upgraded to play video files via the USB port? I understand the port is just there to upgrade the system, would be good if it was actually usable.

Cheers

Not as far as I'm aware.  If you install a firmware from an Olevia-branded set-top box it enables simple PVR functionality, but that's about it.

Cheers, yeah looks like there's no direct route to get it playing things.

I discovered my old DSE DVD player that has a USB input, but when I tried to get it going it froze up for some reason and now appears to be completely dead. I'll have a look around, see if there's any info for a fix up. If not I might create a post about it.
