Hi guys, this is my first post here ;)

I'm attempting to install freeview, i have a digital freeview decoder/receiver and have an existing dish which was previously used with sky.

My decoder make is KAON portable (http://www.asoft.co.nz/kaon/ksf200.htm)

When selecting the Optus D1 satellite, the signal is only 15% and i have a satellite image with a X flashing (I'm guessing this indicates signal loss).

Have tried a scan but it finds no channels??

any ideas?

Hi, check the LNB setup. you have two LO frequency options, 11,300 or 10750 all depends on what LNB has been fitted to the dish. Also make sure that LNB power is on and 22kHz is off.

Wow thanks for the fast reply!! :)

I was gonna jump up tommorow and check the LMB sepcs etc.. Maybe even tilt and turn the disk a bit??

Im in a bit of a gully, however i got sky with absolutely NO problems..

If you were getting Sky OK, DON'T start messing with the dish angle - it's set correctly.
You can adjust the settings mentioned above (and my money is on the I.F./L.O. frequency) without leaving the comfort of your armchair. Do that first and report back.

As xargi says, dont fu5k with your dish, its obviously working if sky is, just sort you freeview LNB steup.

There's nothing to check.

The frequency used by the LNB will be either 11300 or 10750. Plug those numbers into the configuration menu for the LNB and I'm guessing you'll be fine. There can be a couple of places to put them, you mention lo and high, so try every combination just to make sure it isn't some quirk of the box that means it never actually tries the right one.

Don't mess with the service frequencies (that is, the frequencies for each channel) at this stage either; just the LNB frequency.

Later, you may do a scan to get the actual service frequencies, but I'm guessing they are already set up.
