I know of someone who cancelled there sky account. They had originally paid the $600 for the silver myski box. Sky never asked for the box back. They are now wondering if the myski box will receive freewiew if the LNB settings are changed.

Unfortunately Sky own the box. Even if you paid megabucks to get the MySky box, they still own it. Totally different to Freeview. With Freeview you own it and can sell it.

The obvious. Without a valid Sky card in it no decoding of DVB-S muxes takes place whether encrypted or not. Also no ability to configure the transponder frequencies received.




Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.
