There's a new firmware update on the DishTV website. Who's game?

I downloaded and installed the new update. I dont know what changes it brings though, but there has been recording issues in the past with my DishTV.

Is there the ability to record onto USB now?

How are updates identified?   Our s7090 appears to be running "A3V_11_014E".   I downloaded an update a few minutes ago, but there is no identification - so I don't know whether or not I need to install it on the S7090!

My records indicate the unit was running "A3 V ST18_11_014C" when bought in July 2012.  Presumably the firmware has been updated OTA at sometime?

Since installing this unit we've had no-end of problems which DishTv has blamed on poor signals; we have S85/Q86 with minor fluctuations (less than 5%).

Most problems seem to be temporarily fixed by rebooting - how often should that be necessary?

Any helpful comments appreciated.

Updates seem to be identified by the last 3 digits:  1.4c was the old one, 1.4e is the new one..
Yours must have updated automatically over-the-air at 4am.  Mine did a couple of nights ago.
Somewhere in your Setup or Configuration screens you will find a "Yes" beside OTA update..

I've been using my S7090 for about 9 months without too many problems.    It has locked up 2 or 3 times, requiring a power down/power up to fix, & I have lost occasional items off the recording timer schedule, but, thankfully, no data loss..

Information I've been told about the latest update:
"It doesn't include any major changes, just some hard drive recovery improvements in case of Corruption it also improves the recording via TV3 and TV3+1"

I also am waiting for the long-promised "copy to USB" & have been told:
"We have no era on when this will be available but we are hoping it is going to be shortly"

New Firmware (f) now available

Things were generally all good with (c), large pause and then (e) and the random bugs return--funny clock times on recordings/random recordings .........now (f)

*sigh*

Dish TV 1 step forward and 2 steps back .....

tbh, as a box it does what I want 80% of the time but you are always waiting for a glitch, bug or freeze.....if I could meet myself just over a year ago I'd be advising against a purchase

Even with the signal and quality levels up fairly high, you could still be having problems with the LNB.

Do you guys keep getting the prompt to upgrade the FW? Is there a way to disable it from popping it up ? I'm pretty sure I have the same model as you guys.
