I've been looking at getting one of these as they seem pretty good with  3 tuners and dual boot spark enigma 2.  I just wanted to know if anyone here has had experience with them and what they thought of them.

From what I've been told there is no 7 day epg, just now & then so I was wondering if anyone has managed to get a full 7 day epg for freeview and sky up and running?

Cheers,

If they don't support MHEG5 then then you won't have the full EPG, limiting the usability of the box since you won't be able to see what's coming up and program recordings.

Ah I see. What made me ask was I read somewhere else that there was a pluggin that allowed 7day epg on the spark side of the os, I think it was a uk forum, so I was wondering if that would work for us also.

Just to add on from my last post, one of the more popular pluggins I've seen to capture EPG data is CrossEpg. Has anyone been able to successfully use this to download the EPG data straight from the sky Optus D1 service?

I am not sure if you want to know if the 7 day epg is working soley for amiko alien or for other sat box's but I have an advance 7 day epg (cross epg) working on 160e on enigma 2 on my tm twin oe.

Nothing special mate, I have my receivers with me from up in europe both a tmwine oe and a genuine dm800hd.  With the twin I have just installed the latest vix image and all I did was press the epg button and the 7 day listings are there.  Its the same with the dm800 I've had the dreamelite image on there for ages and never really messed with the epg but when i brought it down here just plugged it in, scanned the channels are away it went.

okay, not too clued up on this but on this one theres CrossEPG installed and can be accessed from the epg. When I go into that there's a list of opentv providers which you can download from, all for uk and aus, no nz. I don't think you can use vix on this machine. From what I can see though your DM800hd doesn't support MHEG5 like the Alien2  but you can still get a nice looking 7 day epg so I hope I can eventually get the same on this one.

If you want some advice on your alien the look up a couple of friends of mine over at forum called satsation.  Look for jimux or conchabair they have wrote an image for your box and have loads of experience with it.  Where all ex-allsats members where we used to be beta testers for technomate products.
