Hi guys
So I went a bit crazy trying to find a firmware that would allow PVR functionality AND let me have AC3 audio, while not having to manually switch to PCM for non-AC3 channels.
Was going through a bunch of olevia firmware, then tried to go back to NZ firmware (which is not supposed to be possible) - but tired by changing the customer number on an old firmware..
Long story short, the thing is bricked. Ah well. Was thinking about buliding a dedicated HTPC anyway.
All it does is turn off and on in response to the remote or the button on the device.
Before I throw in the towel though, anyone have any ideas how to unbrick it? maybe force a boot from USB and go from there?
Thanks for any insight..

Probably best to dump it and get something better.
My experience of Zinwells (had 2 of them) is that they die after 2 years anyway.
Also just dumped my HDT STB which also died after 2 years.
Got a Panasonic Recorder instead. No more problems.
