Hi, I have tried looking around but can't find anything so maybe you can't? but thought whats the harm in asking a wider local community?

Does anyone know if its possible to stream freeview HD over the net to a HTPC as apposed to using a UHF antenna?

I live in a valley where there's is very low reception and I don't meet the minimum signal strength requirements to receive freeview HD

Anyone know if this is possible or not?

Thanks :)

Possible, but do-able is another story, Hauupage Win TV lets you stream signals over your lan or via the internet.

Yes its 100% possible to do but how much bandwidth do you have between the 2 sites you want to stream?

You could use something like https://nicegear.co.nz/dvb-cards/silicondust-hdhomerun/

It would in theory work if you have enough bandwidth

I'm assuming you want a Freeview HD internet stream you can access rather than details on how you can setup on yourself?

Sadly nothing at this stage.

I would have thought that it'd be to Freeview's advantage to have a good streaming site like isky to grow the viewer base.

Not at all imo simply put their viewer base will instantly grow when areas are switched off leaving them no choiceto upgrade tv's, get a set top box or pay a monthly subscription to a provider like Sky or Vodafone. (Telstraclear cable).

So although I suppose a iSky like web interface could be good i doubt it's a high priority for what is effectively still free to air TV as something like that is not likely to be that cheap to set up and run.

This has nothing at all to do with Freeview - they are merely a broadcast platform who are responsible for terrestrial and satellite platforms.

A question like this needs to be directed at the broadcaster themselves, as they're the ones who would need to ultimatey device what platforms they want to broadast on, ie internet / Freeview satellite / Freeview|HD

That's what I was after :)

A stream that I could tap into. I have 100mb fibre so would have been easily achievable, if it was possible.

This is quite unfortunate for me. Thanks guys.
