I have a Hills receiver in my bus and have a satellite finder installed I am led to believe that power is supplied to the satellite finder from the jack when I put a multimeter on jack there is no reading can anybody shed any light on this subject

The Hills satellite receiver will supply the power to the satellite finder. There should be a cable from the LNB input on the sat receiver to the sat finder. Another cable will go from the sat finder to the LNB on the dish. Make sure you have turned the Hills sat receiver on to supply the power.

yes I have everything which you have mentioned but I appear to be getting no power to the satellite finder which I have been told comes from the hills decoder via the dish socket when I use a multimeter on the socket I get no  reading I have been told when you turn the decoder on the needle on the finder should move as I have no power going to the finder or dish nothing will work, have I turned this off What I am asking is can the power be turned of is there a fuse which might be blown as everything else is working fine  do I need a new decoder

Make sure LNB power is enabled, if there is a setting for it. Might be labelled H/V or 18v/14v.

You should see about 18vdc with a multimeter, assuming you are trying to get a Freeview transponder.
