Yesterday all channels were very good.  My Vivo software reported 100% quality for all channels.  Ditto this morning.  Now the weather has worsened, Ch 1-5 quality fluctuates 20-70% and choppy.  However a lot of the channels like Ch6 (TV1) at full def 1080 getting 100% still.

Is this correct and common?

Channel 6 is 576i. As for the reception, maybe tell us about your antenna installation, where it points, polarity etc. Otherwise contact an installer. Who ran the cable, if you did, was a crimping tool used???

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

Crimpler wasn't used - the store suggested me to just use the screw on connectors.

As of now - all channels back to 100%.
#6 on my sofware says TVONE.  1920x1080.

TV3 Plus1, C4, Shopping Channel - my software says 720x576,

Bottom of Churton Park between Johnsonville and Tawa in Wellington.  Phased Array - pointed towards Welly Airport.  Tried to point at Kaukau but reception not v good.  We do have hills, houses and trees around our area and we are lower than  most houses here.  Horizontal orientation.

Buy a crimping tool and crimp all terminations. If problem continues call an installer who would locate the antenna in the optimal location.

I'm talking about logical channel 6, which is U.

P.S. One can assume that is is coming from Kaukau. please confirm channels received on, i.e., 32, 34, 36 on 562, 568, 594 MHz.

.

If outside, the connection really needs to be crimped. I purchased a tool and did mine. Sometimes can get a little pixelation in really bad weather, but nothing major.

At UHF frequencies, as used by FreeviewHD, rain fade isn't really an issue if you are line of site to the transmitter. However, if your transmission path is through trees, the signal through them can be affected by rain as wet trees/leaves are poor conductors of RF.
Rain in the atmosphere really only affects microwaves like those used for satellite.

don't mess with me.... i'm the hd insider....

will get a crimp tool when the rain clears. yeah we have trees here, a hill and houses along it, at the bottom of our street it`s sslightly uphill road but of course those who drive up to the supermarket of churton park are even higher than us. the trees are maybe 2 or 3 metres away from the aerial hence the phase array.

will turn it a bit to the left to maintain the 100% on a dry day and then see if it improves on a wet day. i do know that if i point to kaukau which is inline of the trees goes crap.

Sorry a typo, 578 would be the second frequency, channel 34.
