Just heard a rumour that TV3 Plus 1 is going off air - can any one confirm or deny?

This would be really unfortunate because I like being able to get home late and watch stuff without having had to set the recorder up beforehand.

Having said that I might be able to live with it if they use the freed up bandwidth to improve the quality of the main TV3 feed on Freeview satellite.

I think they have an obligation to use it or loose it dont they?
If they shut it down they would either have to replace with something else or sell off the frequency.

Would be a pity - TV1 + 1 and TV3 +1 are useful when 2 things are on at the same time.

Where did the rumour come from?

That is why I thought I would ask on a more informed forum!

Not a chance of TV3+1 going off Freeview. I saw no threads on trademe regarding this. Link?

Maybe confusion is caused by the lack of Home and Away on 3 and the H+A Omnibus.

Have heard that 1+1 (ch7) and 2+1 (ch6) will swap to create an order to the lineup...

don't mess with me.... i'm the hd insider....

+1 channels are pretty much free ad revenue, so I think it'll stay...

Aren't TV3 in some sort of financial strife? Maybe would not be surprising if they were scaling things back. Guess it depends on whether the revenue it generates sufficiently covers the operating cost.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

No, you have the 0.  The -1 would be showing programming an hour earlier which would be impossible.

I'm reasonably certain that broadcasters get extra revenue from ads that play on +1 channels.
