Prime has now shut down on Freeview's Transponder 12456

You will need to Re scan to pick Prime up off 12707

Note there are three to choose from (Advertising Regions - Upper NI, Lower NI, SI)

Thanks for the heads up.

I'm assuming freeview approved units should twig to this?

on monday afternoon I started watching prime and 30 seconds later it disappeared.  I have a Dishtv S7090pvr in the lounge.  I checked dishtv site and they had a firmware update available.  I could have left it to automatically update at 4pm Tuesday morning or force ota update then.  I chose then and it adds Prime back to Freeview.   Probably would have gotten it by scan but this way was easy.

HTPC Intel Pentium G3258 cpu, Gigabyte H97n-wifi motherboard, , 8GB DDR3 ram, onboard  graphics. Hauppuage HVR 5500 tuner,  Silverstone LC16M case, Windows 10 pro 64 bit using Nextpvr and Kodi

Freeview units with up to date Firmware would have picked up the re-direction to the new transponder on Monday which required a re-scan.

The Prime transmission on the original transponder was continued until shutdown last night.

This has been a complete SCREW UP......

- Many Freeview approved units not automatically picking up the new channel details for Prime

- Zinwell units being UNABLE to tune into Prime currently ("service not collected" message when trying to tune)

- No warning/info about this happening for Freeview users (on screen ticker for the few days before would have been helpful)

- No Freeview MHEG5 EPG data on Prime now

- Prime not properly following the LCN (logical channel numbering) for Freeview, therefore showing up as channel 1000 or similar - even on approved units

- Arrrggghh!!!

So many customers ringing and asking me what THEY have done wrong with their Receiver because Prime isnt working now.... NO INFO to the public - What the hell Freeview!

Plus, something seems to have changed in the last 12 hours with the signal because some units that I have manually tuned yesterday have dropped the channel today. Waste of my time (and many others around the country Im sure).

Something needs done about this - it is ridiculous

Had to rescan the channels on my Digistar, picked up over 100 channels (hi Sky!), found Prime and away I went... however my sister who has a Veon FV box, has not had any luck at all rescanning etc.

I didnt know anything about it until the OP.

Usually there's a filter option, FTA, meaning only scan for free to air channels, and using this usually excludes the Sky Channels.

Likewise, I knew nothing about this until the OP mentioned it.  I expect I'll be returning to retune my parents boxes shortly.
Had hoped the freeview units would have auto corrected for this.

My thoughts on freeview are well known, and they typically run for the hills when questioned about this type of thing.
They seem to be a PR front to 'compete' with SKY (despite having very little content in common) and defining a maximum level of smarts any approved box can have.

I am having major problems getting PRIME on my MAXplus+ HTS 7300 receiver. I have done a factory reset, scanned all the other Freeview channels correctly but no PRIME on 12707 or Maori TV. As my receiver is about seven years old I cannot "get a firmware update from the manufacturer", as suggested by Freeview. Has something else changed. Tried all the options of Manual Scan. Any ideas?

I had to  a default scan on my Globo 4100 STB and found Prime in the middle of the Sky channels.  Had to move it back to CH 10 ..

My cheap $69 Sommet STB required a rescan, my DishTV s7070 picked up the changes automatically. A little advertising of the changes wouldn't have gone astray - someone needs to sort out their ability to communicate.

I've a DVB-S card in the desktop ... thought "somebody has stolen my Prime"!

Did a re-scan on the transponder and up came three Prime channels ... as someone else said, way down the Sky channel list.

Selected one and copy/pasted back near top of FTA listings and all is well.

Who knew????

R.

P.S.  Oddly, Maori didn't need changing, but TV2+1 did.

What isn't being appreciated (in more ways than one), is that nobody at Freeview (whatever that is) or among the broadcasters, seems to me to give a twopenny damn about the Freeview FTA DVB-S "service".  I suspect that there only ever was a marketing department, and their job is done.

I guess the Prime move is to allow space for a sports channel. I guess someone does care about DTH eh?
