We have Sony Bravia 32EX400 tv in lounge and has been excellent since bought it in 2010 and used only with freeview uhf. Was fine last night but this morning the sound is 20 to 30 seconds ahead of the picture. All channels on same mux are affected but Prime TV3 and Choice are all fine.
Unplugged TV from wall and even factory reset and retuned made no difference. Freeview report no problems.

Now when I woke up this morning and turned my MagicTV 3700 on it had picture but no sound. Restarting fixed it and sound in sync with picture so seems only Sony affected overall.

So my aerial installed in 2010 with TV is it possible something gone wrong with aerial overnight that only affects the TVNZ mux. This is in Papamoa and signal from Kopukairua transmiitter 3kms away in direct line of sight from us. Havent had strong winds or rain overnight that could have caused it

If the other muxes are OK then it won't be a fault with the TV or antenna but most likely a transmission fault.
I doubt that it would be 20 - 30 seconds ahead. Did you mean millisecs?
I've noticed the odd time where the sound is slightly ahead usually during News broadcasts. Happens occasionally on no particular channel but is very annoying and usually because when are getting their news feed via the internet.

No this is definitely seconds. Really bad. Funny with adds on tv, the one add is still showing but the sound is already for the next add. I havent seen anything like it before.
I have looked and noticed the aerial is approx 2 degrees to east of transmitter. Have looked at cable and it is only RG59 however been good until now. Due to forecast rain I wont go on roof today but when I do I will remove existing VHF antenna and realign the uhf.
Had a look and no way will I try and go into ceiling space. So if still no good afterward I was wondering about using a diplexer at mast to connect both satellite and uhf aerial into the one existing RG6 cable that runs down side of house and then another diplexer at tv end. Only problem the satellite cable splits at bottom of house and 1 cable goes to the bedroom and one to lounge.
If I were to do that, would running uhf through same cable degrade the signal.

OK. Never heard of sync being that far out before. Very strange.
Removing the old VHF antenna would be a good idea. Freeview really likes a UHF only antenna plus good rg6 co-ax unless as in your case you obviously have sufficient signal strength on you present setup.
There's no way though that audio/video sync can be upset by the antenna sytem. It can only occur during pre transmission processing or by post tuner processing in the TV. The antenna and coax just delivers the rf signal to the tuner and processing takes place after that.

I wouldnt have thought that cabling/signal should cause that sort of effect. Though if its everything on that mux its either a broadcast issue or somehow the TV.

If its broadcast then everyone else in your area will notice it - thats a HUGE sync issue.
You said your magic TV is fine - so its probably not a broadcast issue.

Does the sound come straight from the TV speakers - you arent putting it through a home theatre?

Even if its out of warranty it might be worth a call to Sony?

okay, just that since there seems to be no one with the problem thought it must be aerial. Was fine last night then no good today. Hopefully TV cant pack up on just one mux that causes problem I dont have another tV with builtin freeview to try

P.S. Just checked on my PC tuner (Hauppage HVR2200) here (Auckland - Waiatarua) and all channels and no sync problems.

sound is tv speakers. Antenna cable from antenna through splitter in ceiling to tv.
MagicTV is working okay BUT first thing there was picture but no sound. Turn off and restarted and the sound came on

Just turned TV on again now and its all working well. last time was 20 minutes ago and still out of sync. Funny how Freeview said no problems when I had asked and no one else has complained here at Papamoa but yeah all fine now.
So dont really know if it was them or whether the atmospheric conditions affected it or what

They probably checked after you rang and found there was a problem.
