new house build in the plan and am looking at TV cabling and aerial. we are in tauranga and currently getting freeview off an old sky aerial vaguely pointed at te aroha and its ok for one tv....
but the new place will have at least 3 tv points and up to six depending on PC tuner cards and maybe kids rooms...

how much gain should i go for? a big 92 element aerial? or a smaller one with an amp?

Any reccomendations on splitters/distribution that could do 1 in and 6 out?

oh and probably need a better FM aerial as the amp will be in the media cupboard in the center of the house.

TBH you are better IMO to get a smaller one that doesn't look as ugly and get an amp in your cabling distribution area if you need it.

Perhaps a couple of these or something similar?

One for UHF with a medium sized antenna and one for Sky?
You could also consider more than one antenna plus splitters. One for the living areas and another for the sleeping areas? If using a non-metallic roof they may work OK in the roof space and therefore be out of sight.

Edit
Omni directional FM antenna

we are right on the southern side of town in Ohauiti area. not sure how directional the kopukairua mast is but certainly cant see it from site. even in welcome bay i have my crappy aerial pointed at te aroha and its fine.. not sure if its better to point at an occluded closer mast or a clear one further away?  house will be clay tile roof
