We have just moved into a new house that has a large Joysky satellite dish and two tv aerial connections (1upstairs 1 downstairs). We bought a brand new satellite receiver box last weekend and have tried tuning or Veon Freeview ready tv through the satellite receiver (using DTV not ATV on the channel tuning) but each time it says it is not receiving any signal... Don't know if we are doing something wrong or there is a problem with the dish??

The TV needs to be on "AV" or similar, not DTV. Your satellite box converts the digital (DVB-S) signal into an analogue one, so you don't want the TV set on digital.

Are you seeing the menus etc produced by the satellite box?

The joysky dishes are usually c band. You need a ku band dish an lnb which are smaller

How have you connected things together?
Should have dish coax to Sat Box input and HDMI or Composite A/V or Component plus Audio from Sat Box to TV.
Then select appropriate input on TV.
If you can't see the Sat Box setup menu then you are not connected correctly.
Where are you located. Freeview terrestrial area or satellite only area?

Yes I can see the receiver box menu on the screen so I think it is all connected correctly. We are located In Mt. Wellington, Auckland so should have good coverage. Wondering if it is connection issue with the actual satellite dish??

If your TV has a Freeview tuner why don't you use a UHF antenna direct to the TV? You are in a FreeviewHD area and don't need a satellite box. Your Freeview TV will receive UHF HD Freeview whereas a satellite box will only be SD.
If you can see your Sat box menu but get no signal then the Dish is probably dead or not connected through to the box or as RunningMan said the wrong sort of dish.

Post a picture of the dish and tell us roughly what direction it points and elevation angle from the horizon.
