So it looks like Mediaworks have dropped all of their Fox shows including a lot of popular shows including Homeland.

Right now what is the best legal option for NZ viewers?

Shame as I was looking forward to Homeland and a couple of other new season shows.

One of the other networks will probably pick them up (like TVNZ did with Home & Away).

It would be preferable if they go to TVNZ than SKY, as I'm sure SKY would shuffle some of them to SOHO and the rest onto SD Prime...

By the way both the Herald and Stuff links go to the Herald website.

You should read the article you linked.

"MediaWorks new board has chosen not to pursue an output deal with FOX and is working to establish a new arrangement with the studio. Programmes supplied by FOX include Homeland, Modern Family, Bones, Sons of Anarchy, New Girl and The Simpsons."

An output deal is a bulk buy of every show released. They will simply work toward buying individual shows in the future.

The remainder of 2013 will see no FOX content but since that is less than two months I doubt that is a big deal. 2014 will see the shows bought and broadcast, I am almost certain. :)

Unless TVNZ picks up that same output deal. I'm sure Fox would prefer that.
They might need another channel (they have some spares don't they?), or maybe they just have less repeats (yeah right.)

I do remember reading somewhere that TVNZ and Sky would be circling like hawk if these rights became available and even talk of TVNZ setting up another Freeview channel if it could land the rights

Sadly I was hoping we'd see shows like Homeland and Glee align with US air dates like last year.

Plus some big US shows will be dropping off the schedule atleast until 2014, assuming they do come to an agreement.

I can't see TVNZ setting up another HD channel to show these Fox programs..
