They also released an update for the T1020 on the same day, seems strange releasing a major update on Christmas Eve.

Think of it as a Christmas present.

I had to downgrade my parents' 1020 back to v1.31 after the component video output stopped working. Not sure if it's a problem with the unit, or the firmware but they've also been unable to do scheduled recordings for a few months, while instant recording and playback work fine. I'll call the support line on Mon for some help :P

I just tried the component video output on our unit and it's working fine, it just looked really washed out compared to the HDMI. Also checked a movie that was recorded via the EPG last night and that's Ka pai too. Yep might pay to check with Dish TV.

couple of comments:

1. the zip doesn't appear to include the rtf file which has the instructions in it (the exe does)
2. i faffed around with 2 sticks and 6 or so attempts at flashing the 1050 - but all failed as the usb stick was not detected by the 1050. i then reformated the stick to fat32 (they were ntfs) - and re-extracted the fw file - and hey presto it worked.

hope the above helps someone

and to the vendors - you may wish to address these matters.............

I think that  component video output is blocked with HD channels  a Freeview regulations,  same with the copied HD files on the T1050 comes up with a warning that the cannot  be played back on a PC..

lol - are suggesting i actually rtfm?  :) - one line in the fw upgrade notes to ensure usb stick is formatee fat32 would be all that's needed - esp for people like me who have long ago lost the manual...
