Does anyone have an installer that they can recommend for a straightforward UHF job? The Freeview site has heaps of installers listed but I'm hoping someone here can help me to avoid the cowboys.

I have good signal gain from Mt Kaukau but my place is exposed to frequent extreme wind so I will ideally want someone with experience in that type of environment.

Let us know how it goes, cost etc. thinking about having one put on our two story house as part of the inexorable move away from sky.

Lester from Goodfellows came over this morning and, apart from being 45 minutes late, he did a very good job. The total cost was $250 inc. GST which I thought was very reasonable but I already had cabling and connectors in place so if you need cabling done then you would obviously want to budget for that.

Seems a bit expensive to me. My son's neighbour (fringe reception in Auckland) had a full antenna install including antenna, cabling, connectors and tune up for that price.

I'm no expert but the cost breakdown of components used seemed reasonable and only $50 labour was charged which isn't much when you consider that these guys might sometimes only get two or three jobs in a day and still have to cover business overheads, tax, etc.

Another quote that I received a year ago was in the same ballpark - actually, slightly more expensive I think.
