I have just purchased and installed an outdoor uhf hd aerial 30 dB. It is connected to the existing internal aerial wiring into the house. This works perfectly for the lounge tv.

We have two points in the house where we can plug our t.vs in, to get reception. one is the one above and the other is connected to a sky satellite dish.

My question is can I change the second one to my uhf aerial onstead of it being connected to the dish. All the wiring is in the walls.

My husband said on the roof there is a box with three connections. The uhf and the dish both connect to it.

Probably but impossible to say without knowing how all the cables are run and interconnected. If one is UHF and another is Satellite then what is the third one?

Roof box is most likely a diplexer, UHF, L band in, both signals out on one cable run. Another diplexer to provide output of either on seperate runs. If you did indeed install the UHF antenna you would know the details though.

Its a box on the roof where where the uhf plugs in. The dish plugs in and then a cord runs down intothe ceiling and splits to two plugs.I want to have both points connected to uhf. I hope im making sense.

It should just go.

It sounds like the box on the roof accepts both the satellite signal and the UHF signal and sends them both down the same cable.

Have you tried plugging your UHF set into the other outlet?

OK, the boxes are diplexors, you need to disconnect cable from L band out on diplexor nearest to outlets and connect that run, along with the other run, to a splitter on the diplexor UHF output.

We have but I will try again just in case. The one im trying to covert works perfectly for on freeview satellite but we want to use the built in hd freeview for better picture

He needs to be in the ceiling not at roof end.
