Has it gone again?? I just did a scan of the freeview transponders found nothing new, I was hoping it would be up & running fully for the first race of the new motogp season on monday.

Maybe it's down so they can add a proper channel name and epg data to it? and maybe make it HD? :) I'm not at home to see if it's up at the moment.

Highly unlikely you will ever see a free to air channel transmitted in HD from the Optus D! on the freeview platform.

Forgive my ignorance...does this simply mean it's coming to Freeview Satellite, or also Sky?

Hopefully both.

Take trackside for example. it's on a Sky Transponder FTA, both Sky and Freeview receivers can get that. :)

I also noticed it last night as I hadn't deleted the old Prime preset spot as it was rumoured there would be a sport channel using it in the future. Just checked & its gone again. Testing I guess.

It should hopefully be back up soon - it's being announced tomorrow!

One doesn't have HD channels on an dvb-s mpeg2 transponder that is compressed to buggery already (HD has only ever been run over DVB-S2 H.264 on Sky transponders). Given the dreadful image quality that Sommet try to pass off as broadcast quality on the terrestrial service I can't imagine that they have any appreciation of HD or would have the funds to purchase such services. If they did have the funds why are they feeding 360p sub 1 Mbps Internet streams into the DVB-T encoders?? You don't get 10+ Mbps 1080i streams for free.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

I think when TS went off analog Sky opened up TS on the sat..  That will come to an end soon as TS is going Sky only.
