We currently are receiving no Freeview signal at all during the day, but it then resumes about 7 at night. Prime is the first to resume, followed by all the other channels about 1/2 hr later. We live in Taumarunui and satellite is our only option. Our freeview box has been checked OK by swapping with our son who lives iin Taupo - we get the same issue with both his box and ours, but both are OK at his place. Our settings are all OK and I have played around with the LNB frequency to no avail. Our satellite dish is an older one - ex Sky I think?? - and the cables appear to be OK too.
We have never had these problems before now and rain fade doesn't seem to affect us much. This issue began with no signal occasionally, then escalated to no signal at all during the day. I read on the Freeview site FAQ that some people can experience no signal issues during March/April for about 15 minutes due to something to do with the sun. We don't seem to have problems with rain fade at all.
Are our problems more likely to be due to that Freeview issue or the little receiver thingey (not sure of its name) on the satellite dish? Since we live 1.5 hrs from the nearest service centre, getting someone to look at it is the last option. Yes, living in the country is hard in more ways than one!
Any suggestions would be appreciated thank you.
