Have recently bought a DSE TV (2nd hand) with inbuilt freeview and hooked up to existing uhf aerial. Picks up all channels fine but gets interference if someone sits or stands in front of it.

Any ideas why?

I presume it is an external UHF antenna?
What kind of interference?

wsnownzL: Yes external antenna...

By "external" antenna I presume you mean "on the roof" not "on top of the set"?

Sorry should be more specific shouldn't I..

External UHF aerial on the roof.
Other TVs in house hooked to it with no issues.

Cheers

Have been playing around with it this arvo. Seems to be interference on the cable from tv to wall.

TV sits on my desk with laptop and xbox.

I would bet it's a sub-standard cable. Get a new one. I've had some cables in the past (wallplate to TV) with moulded on plugs that were absolutely useless on analogue so Digital was out of the question.

Was cheap from the warehouse. Didn't really consider the quality.

Thanks for that

If they are like the $2 shop ones then to call it coax is a stretch of the truth. More like one wire with a little bit of braid wrapped around it but with minimal coverage.

I have always just crimped my own ones up and then used a F to PAL adapter at the TV end so have no idea sorry. But dynamix cables have always been fine for other things so I would give them a shot first off, PBtech sell them.

+1
Best to make your own. I've had good ones from Bunnings but PBTech or Dynamix would be better. Ones I got from Bunnings some time ago were f plug one end and PAL the other. They also sell adaptors.
