I'm really annoyed with FreeViewShop

I bought one of their products based on reviews, only to discover the product worked but was really clunky.

I wrote a one star review, that wasn't posted.

I decided to look at all their reviews for all products.

Either they have an angel sitting on their shoulder, or the reviews are extremely edited, or created by the company themselves.

I looked at all their Satellite Receivers reviews

1 stars - none
2 stars - none
3 stars - none
4 stars - 4
5 stars - 50

average 4.92

A real customer don't gush the way these reviews do.

As far as ratings, the $60 products fare as well as the $760 product.

"I really appreciate all the hard work Lars at Freeviewshop puts in to make instructions for us as this is very helpful"

"The product is awesomely capable"

"Performance is beyond amazing."

Did you try bringing your receiver issues up with Lars? He's usually really good at resolving these things.

The receiver works, in the same way a 1980 Russian Volga works as a car.

It cost me over $500 and it's "cheap as."

I'll dump it on TradeMe, in a $1 reserve, and build a proper HTPC.

I feel like a fool for not noticing ALL product reviews are 4 / 5 stars; most are 5 stars.

Clearly this is impossible.

Unfortunately it may be unethical to post false reviews, or delete all unfavourable reviews, it's not illegal.

Do you not have any comeback under the CGA?

How long have you had it?

Yeah a bit dubious.

I would have to add that I have not had a good experience with that crowd. But he is still around so must be doing something right.

And yes, he is very heavy handed on moderation and user feedback. So, would I be a repeat customer? NO WAY!

Freeview Shop has removed all their reviews, which I guess is as close to an admission of guilt as we're going to get.

See review of the offending Hyundai AH-3110 Combo Sat/Terrestrial HD PVR.

I think it's pushing it to say that simply removing the reviews is some sort of admission of guilt

Is it they've removed all reviews, or they've removed the review functionality full stop?

Looks like a design I've never seen before so they may have just removed the review function and it's completely coincidental.
