Hi, if your Sat receiver is dvb-s2 it is always backwards compatible with dvb-s?

Yep, that's right. You'll be able to get the standard channels and any HD Channels depending on the service

Sounds good. I'm looking at getting an Android TV box from China, which has the higher spec dvb-s2.
