They have had many issues of not showing sports they used to.

I wonder if the model of providing an advertisement funded free sports channel is not working because the advertisers have realised that the people watching are not likely to buy their products?

the NFL on Mondays seems to have vanished and the live UEFA match that is meant to be on this morning is actually some obscure Skiing event. So there may be some truth to it.

The NFL on Monday never happened this year,  they seems to have become a soccer and   snow sports channel..

at the bit rate they broadcast at it was virtually un-viewable. It looked absolutely terrible on our TV

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

I experienced pretty poor customer service when it took 7 days to respond to an email requesting info about their programming.

we are supposedly in the last hour of sommet sports. it will cease transmission at midday.

edit: and the press release:

PRESS RELEASE 12 December 2014 As at 12.00pm today free-to-air sports channel Sommet Sports will cease transmission.

Launched 18th July 2013, Sommet Sports has delivered both live and pre-recorded sports on Freeview Channel 14, and Sky Channel 69. Funding initially understood to be available for the channel upon launch had largely never materialised and Sommet has been forced to attempt to deliver a full nationwide broadcast channel on one third of the finance.

“I am totally gutted at not being able to sustain something that we have long held a fervent desire to deliver to New Zealanders. Sommet was born from a dream to deliver free sports to all kiwis. Sadly this dream is not to be.” says Andrew Reeves, Director of Sommet Sports Ltd. “We have been blown away by the amazing support and consistently growing viewership that we gained in such a short time. We can only thank our loyal fans who have stayed with us until the end.”

“Being the ‘new kids on the block“, we also struggled to gain a strong foothold with most advertising agencies. This coupled with an acute funding shortage has left us with the sad reality of having to make the difficult call.”

“I would like to thank OMD, Spark, McDonalds, KFC and Fiat Chrysler group for their support and belief in our vision of delivering ‘Free Sports for Kiwis’ “.

That's a shame. Not having sky, it was nice to have some of the other sports shown that don't get much coverage on NZ TV.

Picture quality is absolutely vulgar. After examining a football game on both DVB-T (no pillar boxes) and Sky versions (had pillar boxes) looks like they zoom a 4:3 ratio transmission in and crop top and bottom off, this is totally unacceptable.

Note: If it was actually broadcast quality SD I would have watched it. 720p and most people would have watched it. So blurry that the players are indistinguishable is not going to attract the modern viewer used to 1080i Sky and 720p ESPN. Again, I think the image quality was totally unacceptable.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

Such a shame. Even if the quality wasn't as good as Sky they still showed a lot of football we otherwise wouldn't get to see here. Was perfectly watchable through mysky on my 42 inch TV too.
