Hi guys, I'm not sure if this is allowed, a mod my remove this post if not.
I need help finishing my Freeview install at my home in Johnsonville, Wellington. I would think its a 20min job for someone who knows what they are doing. The problem I am having is that the guys who installed my fibre connection cut the cable that runs from my Satellite on the roof to under my house and into the lounge. They cut it because there was only enough room in the drilled hole in my floor for the one cable. They done this without asking, and I did not know until after they left. I had paid $110 only 2 months earlier to have it put in. I do not own the right equipment to fix this. What I would like to do is make the whole bigger for 2 cables, Ethernet and the Freeview cable. So would need a drill or something to cut the hole slightly bigger. Also a crimping tool to fix the cable once its pushed back through the hole. The cable is long enough. The house is on stilts so is very easy to access under the house.
Can anybody help? I don't want to have to pay another $110 for the call out, but would be fine giving someone $50 for their time. PM me if interested or reply with any advice.
Quick question, it is a Sky Dish on the roof, once its complete can I get Freeview HD once I buy a decoder? I plan on buying a Freeview recorder. Or can HD only be done over UHF. The box I seen did say Satellite HD but its not very clear on the Freeview website.
