I have had a Panasonic DMR-BW850 pretty much soon after it came out in the country. Although promised 8-day listings, we would only get a few hours ahead.

I noticed there was an automatic machine update a week or two ago. Tonight I realised I now have full 8 day program listings, much as we should have had years ago! Was it the update or have they finally decided to fill up MHEG-4 listings properly?

It will be interesting to know.

Do you have the official freeview EPG, the Red one with grey writing from memory?

I don't know,  I suspect they have altered the software to read MHEG-5 then convert it to MHEG-4, which I've touted is what they should've been doing to send MHEG-4 info in the first place.

Well, it now only shows listing until Sunday, I don't know if they've decided to can it or what.

There's no such thing as MHEG 4. ;)

Freeview HD (terrestrial, DVB-T) now has full EIT (DVB standard) EPG data available for people that live in Auckland. The TVNZ and MediaWorks transport streams for regions other than Auckland still don't have EIT EPG data.

Forgot to get back about what happened here.

It appears this model plays up when it is in the last week before daylight saving changeover. Since the change, it has worked fine again, with 8 day programming restored. It also sometimes tries to tell me that there are program recording clashes or overlaps in the week leading up to the changeover too when there aren't. It gets a little confused.
