I live in Paraparaumu Beach and am interested in getting Freeview Plus. I have no UHF aerial on my house so was wondering if using an indoor UHF antenna would work in my area. It says that I'm very likely to get Freeview HD reception on the Freeview website. If this could work which would you recommend. Would these be any good? https://www.noelleeming.co.nz/shop/home-entertainment/televisions/television-antennas-aerials/miscellaneous-dds150-dds-amplified-flat-panel-dvb-t-indoor-freeview-antenna/prod117991.html

Generally the answer is no, but you may get lucky if you can place one in a window that has line of sight to a transmitter.

I strongly recommend getting a proper UHF antenna but if you do get an indoor one then make sure it is amplified. This does not appear to be the case with the one you've linked to.

We have one like this on a TV in the spare room, and it works fine. It's positioned by a window and we are in a very good reception area, though, so your mileage may vary.

I live very close the the Kapiti Ngarara transmitter. I'm in Paraparaumu Beach and it is about 6km away just past Waikanae Beach. However I cannot see it out the window. What do you advise I purchase to use for this transmitter? And how likely would it be to work?

Thanks,
Andrew

I live in Johnsonville, quite close to Mt Kaukau and with direct line of sight to the transmitter from the window next to the TV. Got an Endeavour indoor antenna from Noel Leeming (can't find it on their website anymore) a year or so ago and it works perfectly with the in-built freeview on my TV. Don't use it very often as we have Sky, just occasionally when the weather affects Sky. Originally got it to be able to watch Sommet but that later went on Sky then went bust anyway. Check if the store would allow you to return it if it doesn't work for you and give it a try if so.

Thanks for the replies I might just get a aerial installed on the roof. I would like it connected in two different rooms. Does anyone know the best and cheapest installer in Kapiti? Thanks.
