As the topic says, is there a database or similar available that you can search by model number to see if a TV is Freeview Plus compatible?  If not, what is the best/easiest way for me to tell?  The model number is UA55H7000 bought last year.

Thanks in advance.

I purchased the Samsung TV that had the EVO box attached that was supposedly upgradeable for future specifications. Any idea what can be done with that to make a 2013 model FreeView Plus compatible?

Nothing. You have to use a Freeview Plus approved unit.

No, this is not correct.

Upgrading your evolution kit compatible TV with a SEK-3500U will upgrade your 2013 F series TV to freeview plus.

But that involves purchasing another unit, not upgrading what the OP has already. I don't see it listed on the Freeview Plus site as compatible and it's expensive so therefor far cheaper to just buy a freeview Plus box.

It definitely will work. Not only will it give you freeview plus, but it will upgrade the tv to an octa core processor and 2015 tizen operating system.

The SEK-3500 at $450 (HN) is a great add on.  It is compatible with the following TV's All 2014 UHDs (HU6900 and above) and All 2013 UHDs (F9000 and S9).  Check you model before you buy.  It gives you Freeview Plus and I know for mine it was definitively a big improvement in Colour etc.  Mine is a HU9000 and is now equivalent to the JS9000 model with out spending $8,000.

I appreciate everyone responding to my question.

I have a 2013 UA65F8000AMXRD. I was told that if I got this I could change out the Evolution kit and upgrade it to the current model. I will be really upset if that isn't the case when they now have Freeview Plus.

I also have searched online and can't seem to find this listed anywhere for sale in New Zealand.

Ah ok, sorry the SEK-3500U will only work with the F9000. The F8000 cannot be upgraded to tizen / freeview plus.

It appears that you are correct from looking on other websites from searching the SEK-3500U. I just don't know why that I have an evolution box on my model and it is not upgradeable although it was sold under those pretenses. I wonder if there some kind of legal action I can take. I feel ripped off by Noel Leemings.
