Freeview's DVB-T is only using the MHEG5 standard for their 7 day EPG. The normal EIT EPG is only transmitting the current and next show which is why it's all DVBViewer can pick up as it doesn't support MHEG5.

The only way to get an EPG is to use an external XML file and an application such as XMLTVNZ to scrape the EPG data from the various websites.

I have just worked this out.

DVBViewer + importXMLTV + xmltvnz source = 7 day EPG on all DVB-T channels

importXMLTV is available from the DVBViewer site, and you can find out about xmltvnz by google

One other option, if you have a DVB-S card in your machine, is to pop over to www.gbpvr.com and search the forum for DVBTOXMLTV. I have not tried this program myself yet (will tomorrow), but my understanding is that it will capture the 7 Day EPG from the satellite via the DVB-S card and write it out as an XMLTV file. Could be a useful utility also for generating EPG for Media Centre.

Cheers Mike

One other option is to also use the 7 day EPG (captured off the DVB-S feeds) from http://epg.pvr.geek.nz/epg/ which has several available. I know these are designed primarily for MythTV and you may have to make some small modifications to the data to import this file into other programs.

The 7 day EPG is available via DVB-T it's just that most TV applications don't support MHEG5.

The DVB-S broadcasts transmit the 7 day EPG via MHEG5 as well as the DVB EIT format.
