Just wondering if anyone has had any luck getting the cheap Chinese Android/Kodi/DVB-S2 boxes working in NZ. They seem to be have the potential for being a great option as an all in one unit including Freeview. Doesn't seem to be much in the way of information from people getting these up and running.

Hmm... I was tempted by the ones on TradeMe for that reason. Interestingly, I cant find a single listing now...

Probably gone in one of trademe's periodic purges of things that shouldnt be sold here.

I know someone with a generic dvb-s2 box on satillite freeview and its a dog to use, they keep having to ask their kids to fiddle with it whenever there are changes on the satillite because it doesnt pick them up. For your own use that may be fine but I wouldnt be expecting other people to be using something they have to fiddle with because it doesnt get the changes.

Yep. At the moment these android boxes don't even appear to rate as geek friendly let alone Ma and Pa approved. I'm really just hoping someone will respond to day that it's at least worth a go.
