Hi all. New to forum...

I recently bought a USB DVB-T stick off Trade Me for $20 odd. It installed fine on my i7 PC and the software all seems to work and it gives me scanning options but it won't detect any channels. I am 100% my UHF aerial works fine because it's the one that I use in my lounge, but I want to be able to have Freeview on my PC. I've googled around and even sent an email to the makers of the BLAZE software to see if I can get any help, but nothing yet. Can anyone suggest how I can make this thing work?

You would need to advise what scanning options you chose before anyone can help, frequency range, bandwidth, digital modulation etc.

See Section 16.2

Are you sure the device has installed correctly and with appropriate driver? Check in Device Manager that there isn't a yellow exclamation mark against it.

There are many that use the default USB ID, but have a different tuner to the driver that installs by windows update so it looks like its tuning but nothing happens.

Make sure to use the supplied drivers, and if it still doesnt work then its probably stuffed.

Here's the drivers i use, they work, but you gotta play around installing and uninstalling drivers in order for Windows to actually use these drivers. it's a shame Windows makes it so hard to get the actual drivers installed.

Thank you to everyone who responded to my thread I just wanted to let you all know I now have it working and what I found was that the drivers needed to be installed by an Administrator.

The profile I use day by day is a standard user profile and it wasn't until I installed it under my Administrator account and it worked first pop that I realised why the software loaded fine but no channels could be found.

The software that came with the dongle worked but it was a bit flaky, that was Blaze 6.0. I ended up downloading SichboPVR which works better. The interface allows you to scroll through available channels in a nice list format and even the contents of your hard drive while the current channel continues to play in a reduced window.

Anyway I'm happy now and I just wanted to acknowledge the responses and the spirit of helpfulness that I found here.
