Seems folks are having success with these broadcasts. Haven't installed the gear yet but was wondering, do you need the Monogram codec to get audio?  I tried playing the tests posted in one of the threads and can only get video. I then downloaded the Monogram codec and registered the .ax file but it didn't make any difference - still no audio. BTW I was just tying to play them with VLC and Nero Digital

Any experiences appreciated, thanks

I had AC3Filter and it worked fine. I only have Monogram in my system now because Media Portal installed it - but dvbviewer was configured to use AC3Filter instead.

I don't believe either of these programs can yet deal with the AAC-LATM audio.

Looks like the latest version of gbpvr can deal with it according to sub. Not sure AC3filter can do it since as the names indicates, it only deals with AC-3 streams. The fact that the Monogram filter got installed with DVBViewer indicates that it's needed there.

It appears that monogram only works in a program if its designed to use it and forced, as when i register the .ax and set it to prefer in media player classic, it still doesnt pick it up. Same with Windows Media Player.
Maybe its the splitter im using (Haali) though.

Has anyone managed to get Monogram working in any program apart from DVBViewer, GBPVR and Mediaportal?

No, it was installed by Media Portal. Dvbviewer does no install any codec, it uses what you have in your system.

Monogram is required and is used by software which can play LATM HE-AAC audio e.g. MediaPortal TV-Server , DVBviewer, GBPVR etc. the AC3 filter will only hep you with channels that also have an AC3 streams e.g. TV One TV2, (and C4 the otherday but not anymore)

That's a bit disappointing since for some reason I cannot get the Monogram filter to work with the latest version of gbpvr. Something about the Haali splitter not recognising it or something. Tried HDTV Pump but that causes wmp and gbpvr to crash when playing .ts files.

Maybe time to give MediaPortal Tv-Server a go? It seems to play the NZ HD steams just fine (not that i have the hardware for it Cry ) The mediaprotal Devs have been working with the monogram devs so the support should be good.

I guess I could. It's just that gbpvr is working fine for me now, both for recording TCL cable but also as the main playback unit for my networked content. And the family depends on it!  So it's hard to disturb something that's working and cause potential grief in the family all so I can get content in HD.  We'll see....
