Over the last couple of days our DishTV T1050 has been regularly dropping TV3 and TV4. The lock light goes out and the signal pixalates badly the comes right. Its an on going issue. All the other channels are fine. I have re tuned the box several times to no avail. Rebooting seems to help for a very short time. Am running the latest firmware as far as I can see - 1.4D. Any ideas appreciated, possibly box is just dieing?

Watching TV3/4 on the TV itself is fine.

Check your signal strength. Most likely an antenna/cable problem.

Just checked. For all channels Signal strength is around 70% +/-, Quality is 69% +/-, with the ones giving trouble a bit lower at 60-62%. Which is what they have always been. Have a T1020 in another room on a different ariel, will try that now and see if its ok.

Ok, with the T1020 signal and quality jumps to over 95% on all channels, must be the box I guess, time to upgrade.

Might have it sorted. The plug for the aerial connection was loose, just wobbleing around. Quick dismantle and a bit of solder seems to have done the trick. Signal quality for TV3 is up to the same level as the others and the channel seems to be stable at the moment. Still nowhere near as good as with the T1020 but working.
