So a few of us here are useing DVBViewer and maybe have had it setup for about 4 weeks maybe more, do you have any config tips or info others might like to know about useing DVB Viewer

My self I would sure like to know how to use the EPG as I can only get it to show 2 programs ahead on each channel and cant get any more EPG than that.

Also I cant get time shift to work even when I click the timeshift button ??

You cant use the DTT epg you have to use an alternative for DVBViewer

The XMLTV autoimporter for DVB Viewer -replaces the DTT epg

http://www.a123.dk/

Here is the link for the EPG plugin - lets you record in advance with DVBviewer

http://www.dvbviewer.info/forum/index.php?showtopic=13533

Can't help with the timeshift problem it works for me, check that the drive your using for storing the timeshift file isn't full maybe?

I really like this software, but it has totally locked up 2 of my pcs, quite a few times. it seems to be related
to bad quality signal, ie when its windy and raining, some distortion in the picture, then it ends up crashing PC

quite annoying.

on the plus side, when its not crashing, the unicast network streaming to other computers works really well, i recommend it

What are your system specs? seems very weird that it locks up your entire PC.

Yes the network streaming is very cool (use multicast if you are sending the signal to more than 1 other computer).
Is it possible to have the streaming work on all chanels on another computer or is it limited to the Mux? that the host comuter is viewing.

IE: if Computer A has the tuner and is watching TV3 is it possible for Computer B to view TV2 over Multicast/unicast device?

How do you make this run at a certain time of the day each day?
I cant find a setting for it.

Or is this the bit done in step 5 "Create windows tasks"

Not at my htpc just now, but if I recall after you have selected the options, you copy the windows task into task scheduler and get it to run whenever you want to update the epg.

The Nova T 500 Tuner is in my HTPC, which is a  Intel 3.0 Single Core, Asus P5Gc-MX Motherboard, 2GB Ram and ATI HD 2600 Pro,
this will completely lock up sometimes using dvbviewer

I stream via Unicast to my main PC, Intel Quad Core 2.4, 4GB Ram, ATI 3850 ( also tried 8600GT ) and it will also completly lock this up if the signal appears to go to crap

and for your question about 1 pc watching 1 channel and another watching a different channel, yes i can do this, over unicast, as i have a dual tuner Nova T 500, works fine ( apart from the complete system lockups! )

I run the DVBVIEWER SERVER to do the above tho.
