Hmmm. MY HDMI output from the PC doesn't use the whole LCD resolution, so I am using DVI -> VGA (1360 pixel wide). I wonder if we will see any improvement when using this setup.

I'm still struggling with WAF so this might help......some of my problem is the analogue tuner in our panasonic 37" is actually pretty impressive, so it seems only me can see the difference another $2k on the HTPC has made. Rest of the family think it's a waste of time - grrrr

I'm just a crazy newbie?

Surely the fact the analogue can only deliver a 4:3 picture vs true 16:9 is a fairly obvious difference?

Are you married? you'd be supprised at what a wife can miss - especially when the "better" version costs money :-) I think it could have something to do with men being "visual" (thats why p0rn was invented) vs. women who are into feelings and sh1t (Thats why mills&boon was invented).

Yesterday the Mac mini wouldn't boot - it worked after a reset, but The Wife wasn't happy...

She says that everything goes through this computer so if it fails it's no good. According to her view, if a DVD player fails we can still watch TV and getting a replacement DVD player would be cheaper/quicker.

No way for her to understand that the large LCD is also a point of failure and like the Mac mini not something to replace quickly or fix quickly...

Crikey McRae - how did you manage that!  Now if I can just get your wife to talk to my wife....

On a more pragmatic note, have you got an EPG source bound to DVB-T so that we can setup Boston Legal for recording in MP? I have tried "combining" TV3 DVB-T with Sky TV3 but its not having the desired effect?

Cheers Mike

Are you running one of the later SVNs that has my "EPG Only" patch? If so check out the write up I did in the wiki.
If you're still having trouble come ask in the NZ MP thread so we don't get too OT :)
