Is anyone viewing Freeview HD/Terrestrial in the Kapiti Coast or caught test broadcasts? Reportedly as yet no signal transmissions in this area and evidently as yet no first adopters out this way. Would be interested if anyone is reeceiving HD broadcasts into STB or DVD-T device in Raumati Paraparaumu or Kapiti generally at the moment.

What about further north in the Manawatu?

i can confirm that Wharite is broadcasting Freeview HD, this covers Palmerston North and surrounding areas.

wouldn't think the signal would be strong enough to get to Raumati though.

The Ngarara Rd site in Waikanae is active and should deliver good coverage to most of the Kapiti Coast with an appropiate aerial.

Ngarara in Waikanae is definitely operating and should readily cover from north of Otaki to Paekokariki(sp?).

A little bit of further confirmation. I discussed with a local aerial installler who said that they had completed a few installs most successful and mostly reasonable PQ however they take each case on its own such is the variability from house to house.

I would still like to hear a first person account.

Another Freeview Satellite STB installer in Kapiti also suggested that the early Zinwell and Hills Freeview HD units had room for improvement, that their sensitivity wasnt as good as it could be.
