Hi All,

Anyone on here do Ariel and Sky installing? I want to have my ariel looked at as when it is raining or windy we get quite bad pixilation and at the same time have the cables run down a wall to the TV rather than across the floor!

Will need an LNB also installed for Freeview Satellite and possibly Sky in the near  future.

We are in Pukekohe.

I have asked Franklin Aerial & Satellite for an estimate but if there is a Sky approved installer on here willing to do the work in Pukekohe then I am happy to pass the work through here.

If you put location in the subject you might get some response. It's annoying to have to open and read the thread just to find the location ;)

If you are going to get sky in the future, why not just save the money you would pay to hire someone to do the work, and put it towards a sky subscription and they will install one for you. Why they are there, they may be willing to sort out the terrestrial aerial for a smaller fee.

I had considered that but Sky will be end of Oct when Tivo services stop.

As i need the cable to be run down an inside wall rather than the existing one which is in through an external wall better to get it done now.

Hi All,

We used Steve from Franklin Aerial & Satellite.

He came right away and completed the job to a very high standard, his charges were reasonable and he was happy to have me assist, handing tools, climbing into the roof to feed cables etc. in order to keep the costs down (and speed the job up)

He explained what he was doing, what he was seeing on his analyser and why we were having issues, as it turned out the old VHF aerial was picking up a strong FM band and inteferring, removing the VHF component corrected this, we have had perfect picture since. We also had the cables moved to an internal wall, Steve offered the most efficient way of doing this (running inside a cupboard) so no more cables across the carpet.

All in all I am very happy with the estimate, charge and workmanship.
