Given most of our watching of TV is recorded rather than live, whats the feeling about a device such as this?

Presently have a my sky but growing bored with the sky channels - anybody seen the gadget show :-)  - its so out of date its not funny. Oh, and the Highlanders not exactly winning which dimishes the value of the sky sport.

Since we don't watch much live and HD doesnt record as such, this seems pretty good??

PS the HTPC route is something I don't have time for.
