Haven't used a Dish TV box for a while, so this may be out of date but when you press the info button, or whatever, to get the program info at the bottom, it should show whats now playing AND the next up program.

A DVB-S(2) version of, dare I mention, HDHomeRun network tuner thingy would be really (really) nice.

if you press the red button you now get that. also shows you one channel up and down.

i just wish the box was more responsive, pressing something can take 10+ seconds for the function to take place.

too many random reboots or network errors, has a half assed media player on it for UPnP and USB etc.

Is it possible to build Google Cast (aka Chromecast) into a future model? or build in Netflix, Lightbox, Neon, etc apps?

I looked at a Dish recorder when one of my Panny DVD recorders dies, but in the end went with another Panny recorder (a blu-ray one this time). While the disk burning ability, which is something Dish units obviously don't have, was useful it wasn't the decider for me.

In case it's useful, the Panny had a few features that your units don't appear to have, which swung my decision. These were:

A DLNA server. This is a must have. It means I can connect my unit to the aerial downstairs and record stuff. I can also watch what I have recorded over the network - in the bedroom, study, on my tablet etc.
Ability to add external storage. The Panny has, like your twin-tuner models with an internal drive, 1TB of storage. Which isn't a lot where HD recordings are concerned. The Panny lets me add a USB hard drive and use that as well. I don't think yours do.

Also nice to have were:

The Panny's is external AV inputs, which let me connect it to my Sky box and view recordings round the house using the DLNA server.
The ability to schedule recordings remotely, by accessing it when connected to the internet using my phone (as I can also do with my Sky box)

Finally, a number of user reviews on this site and others were less than positive. Rightly or wrongly, my perception was that they seem to indicate a high proportion of Dish units with either faults, or being "works in progress" with bugs and issues needing ongoing firmware releases to address. In contrast, the five Panny units I have owned (1xEH85, 1xEH68, 2xXW390 and 1xBWT840) have been rock solid. They didn't need firmware updates, and only one has died (after many years of high usage). I didn't fancy being a type of beta tester, and grappling with units that had material hardware and firmware issues.

So, in summary, I would be willing to consider a Dish unit for myself or for relatives. But adding a DLNA server, and preferably ability to use external storage and external AV inputs are the features you would need to look at. You would also have to address my perception of your apparent rushing out of units without proper testing and with unfinished buggy firmware. A 60-second skip button would also be nice, but I understand the Freeview rules you labour under.
